Oh springtime in the Northwest...
So this last week was a disaster in regards to the weather. I just don't understand what in the heck is going on here. Is it December or is it June? I mean seriously! Every Tuesday I take Claudia over to my Grandma's house for lunch, along with two of my cousins, my sister-in-law and all of their kids. When we headed over last week it was cold enough for me to put Claudia in this. She didn't have a coat or shoes that really matched her outfit, so this is a full body fleece bear suit.
Oh but don't worry because on Friday it was steaming hot and we were outside for a lot of the day with sunscreen and a sun hat. Oh good gracious...Only here! (Or Colorado, but let's be honest, their weather is WAY to bipolar for me.)

I heart Portland too!
This weekend my good friend Erika and her boyfriend Kevin came down from Seattle for a wedding. They stayed with me and we had such a great weekend. The weather was so beautiful and we were able to enjoy it. I love Portland, but I don't take advantage of it as much as I should. After work on Friday night we rode the MAX downtown and had dinner at The Greek Cuisina, which is one of my favorite places. We were able to get a table outside on the sidewalk and it felt like I was sitting in Athens enjoying a good meal! On Saturday we went down to the Saturday Market and walked around and then walked down to the waterfront and just hung out on the grass. It was one of the best days I'd had in a long time. Great company, great conversations, great weather and some great pictures! It was just what my little soul needed...
Toilet Paper Brides
Last weekend Stacy and I threw a bridal shower for our best friend Erica who is getting married on July 6th. We ended up having it at my house and it turned out really nice. I did my usual stress for days, go totally OCD with cleaning and break out into hives a few times. And like usual, everything was fabulous and my stressing was for nothing. Shocker! We had Erica play The (Almost) Newlywed Game where I came up with a list of questions that I asked Ryan about their relationship and favorite things and then asked Erica the same questions to see how many they answered right. Twelve out of eighteen wasn't shabby, but then again, they have been together for nine years so my expectations were a bit higher! We also had the ladies get into teams to see who could come up with the best toilet paper wedding dress, veil and bouquet. I will say that a couple were quite good--Vera Wang would be proud! (And it just so happened that we had a couple of half used rolls left over, which worked out great for me because I was almost out. Wahoo!!) We had a time where Erica asked us about married life and what advice everybody had for her. I of course had something to say (like usual) even though I'm not married. I just like to give advice. :) Erica got a bunch of great stuff and was excited about it all, which made it all worth it. Happy wedding my friend!!
